Carnatic Classical Vocalists, Roopa and Deepa, popularly known as Kasaravalli Sisters are based out of Bangalore. They originally hail from Kasaravalli which is close to Thirthahalli near Shivamogga.
The sisters are both post-graduates of Music from Bangalore University, sharing the top two ranks for the year. They are “A” grade artiste with the All India Radio and frequently record programs for Radio and Television. They have cut many records and the latest being “Daasa Manjari" and “Sri. Lakshmi Sahasranama”.
Kasaravalli Sisters have performed all over the country in India for prestigious festivals and reputed sabhas including successive years of performances at the December Music festival at Chennai. In Bangalore, they have performed at the Seshadripuram and Fort High School Ramanavami Concerts.
The sisters have performed at the UK, UAE and Singapore. They recently concluded a successful visit to the United States with performances are in Sunnyvale CA, AKKA Conference at Chicago, Buffalo, New York, New Jersey, Dallas and Atlanta.

Gurus
The sisters are completely indebted and grateful to all the gurus who have tutored and trained them. Before the start of each concert, the sisters make a silent prayer for the guru's ashiravaadas on them.
Their basic training in music started at the age of seven with their mother Smt. Shakuntala Rao and later on under the tutelage of various gurus like Vidwan Madoor Balasubramanya, Vidwan K G Ramaswamy and Vidushi Seethalakshmi Venkateshan.
In Chennai, they spent two years for advanced music training under the guidance of Padmabhushan Vidwan Lalgudi G Jayaraman. Presently, they yet train for advanced music under Sangeetha Kalaratna Vidushi Neela Ramgopal at Bangalore. |
